Bourette silk liners. These are a knitted raw silk, and are excellent for mild to moderate nappy rash. Just use in place of creams or other liners, preferably overnight, and they have a miraculous effect on sore bottoms, especially at teething time. Use without any creams or ointments, as the silk needs to be in direct contact with the skin. Hand wash at 30 degrees or lower. We only stock the larger size, as this is the more economical one to buy, and they can be folded in half without any problems (unlike flushable or fleece liners, which must be used single layered). Silk liners have a slightly odd smell, and if you wash them too hot, they will lose that smell. Howeever, they will also become less effective. The odd accidental wash at 60 degrees with the nappies won't do much harm, but please note, that these liners become less effective on nappy rash if washed at higher temperatures too many times. My own experience indicates that after 4-6 washes at over 30 degrees the healing properties are significantly reduced. Please also note that it is very hard to remove poo stains at 30 degrees, so overnight, when your baby is less likely to poo, is the best time to use these. You shouldn't need more than about 3 silk liners.
