Waterproof breathable covers were invented by a mother to help reduce the amount of nappy rash her son suffered from when they moved from the USA to Hong Kong. Her initial crude efforts were gradually refined to become the Diaperaps we know today, and we now have a range of breathable, but waterproof covers to choose from. They generally consist of polyurethane bonded to a nylon, polyester or cotton outer. They are soft, stretchy, durable and easy to care for, almost all are machine washable. Some have easy velcro fixings, some have poppers and there are also pull on styles.
Pro wrap nappy covers. This is a knitted polyester cover with a stretchy waterproof backing and velcro fastenings. They are used by nappy services and are a fairly heavy duty wrap for over most types of nappy, but most suiatble for prefolds. This wrap doesn't cover fitted nappies as well as some others. The thing we like about these is that the gusset is elasticated as well as the legs, so the prefold is held in place nicely. You should also need only 3 sizes from birth to potty, making them very economical. Available in white only.

Nature Babies Nappy cover
This new UK made cover has 3 sizes, the first 2 being multi-sized to give a wider size range and better fit at each stage. In fact, many babies will only need these two sizes instead of the usual three for birth to potty. The wrap is very well made, and has two layers, a breathable waterproof polyester/polyurethane inner, and stretchy knitted polyester on the outside. The legs have soft stretchy binding and a gusset. The cover fastens with rows of poppers on the waist and legs, and adjusts with a further row of poppers to alter the length as your baby grows. Wash at 40 degrees, although 60 is possible occasionally. An excellent cover, suitable for all nappy types. There is a good choice of colours and prints available. However, since there are so many, it is difficult to keep all options in stock at all times, so we ask you to select from a range for girl or boy. If you want a specific print, please say so in the further info box on the order form at the checkout. Your order may take a little longer while we obtain your exact choice.

Velcro Fastening, gusetted wrap for shaped nappies, Popolino Bravo wrap. A soft knit wrap, laminated with a waterproof lining. The legs are gusseted and have gentle elastic to prevent leaks. The wrap fastens with Velcro and is suitable for all nappies. Same design as Mother-ease Rikki (see below), except that the Mother-ease has a softer touch brushed polyester outer layer. The Bravo has a knitted polyester outer layer.
Available in white. Although this is Popolini's budget range of covers, these work as well as the Mother-ease Rikki.Washable at 60 degrees and tumble dryable, (although they will last longer if washed at 40 degrees) Please note, due to supply problems at Popolini, there are no Medium or large available for the time being.

Velcro Fastening, gusetted wrap for shaped nappies, Mother-ease Rikki. A soft brushed knit wrap, laminated with a waterproof lining. The legs are gusseted and have gentle elastic to prevent leaks. The wrap fastens with Velcro and is suitable for all nappies. Available in prints or white, please state boy or girl for Mother-ease Rikki prints. Same design made by two manufacturers, Popolino make the Popo, Mother-ease make the Rikki. Both wraps almost identical, although some believe that the Rikki has a slightly slimmer fit. I have measured both wraps, and the difference is very minimal. Some sellers may try to persuade you that this is a better wrap than the Popo. Ask when they last saw a Popo. It's true that there used to be a difference, and the Rikki was more reliable, but Popolini have improved the quality, and the wraps are pretty much identical now.

Popper fastening Wrap, Mother-ease Air Flow. This is a breathable waterproof wrap that fastens with poppers on the sides which allow air exchange. Made of a brushed waterproof knit polyester laminated with a waterproof layer inside. No gusset, suitable for most nappies, but because it has no gusset, is not so suitable for prefolds. Good over any shaped fitted nappy, and also terries. The wrap can be used as a pull on, but with the option to undo the poppers to remove a very messy nappy inside without pulling past the ankles. The poppers make it harder for mobile toddlers to remove the wrap. Available in print or white, all new Eco Prints now in stock.
